Contemplation along the promenade

I've had a very nice relaxing day

Contemplation along the promenade

Started in the jacuzzi, followed by a delicious breakfast then Paul dropped me off along the promenade.

It was quite cool, rather windy and drizzly but I was desperate to walk along the promenade. It's so pretty; lovely trees and flowers along the way, the sound of the water lapping the shore, lots of benches, and I like looking at the different houses too. Some really modern, some more traditional. I saw one house that I particularly liked and could imagine living in but then next door was a piece of land with an Airstream on which is what I'd more likely be able to afford (I think)!!

I stopped in Bliss bakery. Obviously a very popular place. There was a huge queue. I had a nice coffee and I bought some baked goods to take back to Gail's. A kitchen sink muffin (lots of different fruits inside), a blueberry muffin and two cookies: one peanut butter and one chocolate chunk. No calories of course.

The rain got harder but that was OK because I was near the art gallery. Some lovely paintings but too big for my suitcase! Had a nice chat with a lady who had moved from Winchester years ago, gone through a divorce recently, and now had her own business. I opened up to her about having filed for divorce. She was so friendly and we talked for quite a while. She even gave me her business card in case I wanted to talk to her again, even though she knew I was going home soon. The people in Peachland seem so friendly. I lost count of the number of people who said hello to me on my walk.

After a little while sitting overlooking the lake (the weather had changed thankfully) I decided I should have some lunch. Rather than rocking up at Gails wanting food, I went into Porto Peach and had a Mediterranean flat bread and two raspberry beers. It all went down very well. I was tempted to have another beer, but no! I decided to sit some more by the lake instead. It's so good for the soul.
