Breathtaking coastline
No words to describe the magnificence

This morning started slow. We sat on the balcony and saw a couple of sealions. I had no energy today but so glad we went to the lighthouse. Although the building itself wasn't too exciting, the scenery was stunning. I haven't got the words to describe it. We even did an a-z to try to find the right words but didn't do so well. The sapphire sea, against the pale blue sky, the foaming white froth crashing onto the black rocks, the strange shaped trees, the beautiful shrubs and greenery. It was perfect. What I also liked was the trail path itself. It was safe and easy to walk on, and there were plenty of benches along the way. We sat looking out to sea hoping to see a whale but it wasn't disappointing because of the sheer beauty of the place. The sun shone on the sea, making it sparkle. I didn't want to leave. It gripped my heart.
As we were leaving we came across a man with a parrot. Barney was his name. The parrot, not the man. Very chatty. The parrot, not the man!
Our time clock seems out of sync. Not eating lunch til 330pm. Not that it matters. We're on holiday! Had lovely fish and chips followed by ice-cream.
I rested my eyes on the balcony for an hour. Gail said I slept; I actually snored! We ventured out again in search of the sunset. We went to Little Beach which was disappointing, then back to the lighthouse which I was happy about but it wasn't right so we then returned to last night's spot at Big Beach. There was a bird making such a sweet and funny singsong. It really tickled me and I caught it in video.
It is important to get back to the car before it gets dark because of bears. We do not want to meet one, although I would like to see one!
Apparently there's a chance to see the northern lights tonight. The sun burped and there was a solar flare, so seeing the lights is a possibility. I had to recalibrate the compass on my phone which took ages of moving it around in a funny shape but finally it started working and we now know which way is north.
We're waiting for it to get really dark before we go outside. Will we see them? I'll have to let you know!!
